What To Expect When You Contact Us
When you contact Tawwater Law Firm, PLLC, information about your case will be taken via electronic mail or over the phone. Depending on how you contacted the firm, the next event to occur is usually a meeting between you and one of our lawyers. During the meeting, you describe the facts of your case and get the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about your case, the law of Oklahoma and how a lawsuit works. Our attorneys utilize this meeting to get a general understanding of the facts of your case and to determine the next step to take in helping you with your case. Because of the time, stress and emotional impact of litigation on individuals and families involved in tragedies, we work fast to determine what happened, who is responsible and what we can do to help.
The Cost of Representation
Tawwater Law Firm, PLLC handles its cases on a contingency fee basis. A contingency fee means that we do not receive an attorney's fee unless we are successful in recovering money on your behalf. If we do not recover money for you, you don't owe us anything. We do not charge you by the hour like most lawyers. We work on your case for a percentage of the money we recover on your behalf and you don't owe us anything unless and until we recover money for you. The percentage we take as an attorney's fee varies depending on the type of case you have. When you hire us, both you and the firm will sign a document clearly stating the attorney's fee arrangement and that you do not owe the firm an attorney's fee unless we recover on your behalf.
In addition to the contingency fee arrangement, we also pay all litigation related expenses associated with your case. We keep track of the expenses we pay related to your case and they are deducted from any money we recover on your behalf. This arrangement is also described in the document signed when you hire the firm. We strive to thoroughly discuss the payment of expenses and attorney's fees so our clients have a good understanding of what to expect in this regard.
We Will Handle Your Case While You Put Your Life Back Together
It is our firm's belief that you hire a lawyer to represent your interests and that your time is better spent trying to heal, grieve or otherwise deal with the reason you hired us in the first place. Our lawyers will handle the legal matters concerning your case freeing you to get on with your life and focus on things other than litigation.
